The Whitley County Public Library is committed to transparency and accountability in serving our community. In accordance
with Kentucky’s Open Records Act, members of the public have the right to request access to certain public records
maintained by the Library. Requests may include, but are not limited to, documents related to Library operations, policies, or
official records that are subject to public disclosure under state law. Please note that some records may be exempt from release
as defined by statute.
To submit an open records request, individuals should provide a written request that clearly describes the records being
sought. Requests may be submitted in person, by mail, or electronically to the designated records custodian of the Library. Once
received, the Library will respond in accordance with the timelines established by Kentucky law. Additional details regarding the
process, including applicable fees for copies or extensive searches, will be communicated upon receipt of the request.
